LOMNA VILLAGE SQUARE
The village square was built around a local grocery store and a couple of shops, the used-to-be garage. There is a clothing store, butcher’s, hair salon and a sporting goods store. Residents may also use the services of post office, information centre together with municipal office or parcel shop. Local library and a café are both very popular.
The paved areas are made of split stone and complemented by newly planted trees and shrubs. The square is dominated by a sculpture of a shepherd with sheep, built by a local sculptor Pavel Cupak. The use of high-quality materials is evident here. Overall, the space gives a very clean and minimalistic impression, thanks to the absence of advertising and kitschy details.
